Gardening Friends Outings in 2016
January saw the first Gardening Friends outing this year when a small group went to see the snowdrops at Myddleton House. The weather was chilly but sunny, but as an indicator of how unseasonably mild the weather has been recently, one of the group commented that this was the first time she'd seen snowdrops out with daffodils! After walking round the gardens the group went on to lunch at the Pied Bull.
On June 23rd many of us will be making a return visit to see Theobald's Farmhouse Garden. Last year's visit was in May, so we anticipate a lot of changes since last year. If this will be your first visit, see last year's Outings page for what to expect.
Update after our 2016 visit: 31 members signed up for our Theobald's Farmhouse visit this year and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The plantings at this time of the year were different from our last visit. The 'Knot' garden at the front of the farmhouse was particularly impressive this year. See the Blog for new photos.

On July 21st we have our coach trip to Syon Park and House. The coach will leave from Highlands Village Hall.
Update: Unfortunately this trip didn't take place. The coach broke down on the way to pick us up from Highlands Village.
This was very disappointing, but there is now a new list for members to add their names to and if there are sufficient numbers interested, another visit will be arranged.

On Thursday September 1st Susan and Earl have agreed to open their Muswell Hill (National Garden Scheme) garden for our group especially, for viewing and afternoon tea. They will expect us around 2pm and the whole afternoon will be devoted to our group. The cost will be £7.50 per person to include tea/coffee and a piece of Earl's cake. Both the garden and Earl's cake are eagerly anticipated! Susan says if anyone is gluten intolerant to let them know and they'll make sure they have gluten free cake. Some members have paid in advance, but don't worry if you haven't - you can pay Susan and Earl on the day.
