Outings in 2018
We have two outings booked this year: The Garden Museum & Garden in Lambeth SE1 7LB (Next to Lambeth Palace)
on Thursday 21st June by coach. John Tradescant, English naturalist, gardener, collector and traveller, is buried here.
There is Museum of Garden Artefacts etcetera on 2 floors (Lift to 1st floor) and a Café on site for that ‘odd cuppa’ when needed.
A visit to Capel Manor Gardens on Sunday 22nd July using our own cars. There are 60 Gardens to view, including the 'WHICH' Trial grounds, Japanese, Sensory, Mr Fothergill’s, Naturally Dry, Le Jardin de Vincent etc. There is also a Fuchsia Festival on that day with a display by Enfield & District Fuchsia Society with demonstrations on how to take cuttings and advice on care of fuchsia plants.
CAPEL MANOR FUCHSIA FESTIVAL VISIT - UPDATE: Our visit is on Sunday 22nd (not Saturday as I mistakenly typed at first!). There aren't many who said they'll be coming to this (7 or 8), so we're meeting at reception/ticket desk at the later time of 11.30am and if anyone is joining us after that, we should be in the café/restaurant for coffee and snack at about 1pm. If anyone is going on Saturday, then according to their website, the Fuchsia Festival doesn't open till 1pm on that day. It's 10am on Sunday.

Gardening Friends Outings in 2017
Several outings have been suggested for this year including trips to Heartwood Forest in May to see the bluebells and again in October for tree planting (see the blog entry on 12th Jan this year about The Woodland Trust), also trips to Syon House & Gardens in June, the RHS Hyde Hall Garden Show in August and Theobalds Farmhouse Gardens in September. However there has not been enough interest to cover the cost of the coach hire for the Heartwood Forest, Syon House or Hyde Hall trips.
The visit to Theobalds Farmhouse Gardens will take place on 21st September as this is fairly local so no coach is necessary and members use their own vehicles.
