We started with a quiz game - Jeff Nicholl's Suitcase no.4 of Mystery Objects - strange and obscure objects from bygone days. We had to identify either their name or function. This proved quite challenging - out of 30 objects, only 21 were identified correctly by the winning team! Actually I think this was pretty good going considering how strange and obscure some of these things were! A very interesting game which made one realise how much our way of life has changed over the decades.
Joan made elegant table decorations (see photos) and Gerald not only arrived with his Eiffel Tower, with its own light display, but also proceeded to surround it with a circular railway track - complete with little train and carriages running round the track, plus assorted other Christmassy decorations, including a festive banner! Fortunately he didn't have to bring it all on his moped this year - a thoughtful member gave him a lift in her car!
It was a very convivial and fun afternoon - thank you to everyone for your welcome contributions, whether culinary or decorative!
